Why did you decide to become a dentist?
For Dr. Stewart’s entire life, her mother has worked as an assistant for a pediatric dentist. While growing up, she always had tons of fun hanging out in the dental office. In the second grade, she said she’d become a pediatric dentist too one day – and she did! She loves this career and wouldn’t trade it for any other.
Where did you study dentistry?
Dr. Stewart’s college career started at the University of Florida – Go Gators! From there, she pursued her Doctor of Dental Medicine at the Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine, followed by a General Practice Residency at Lincoln Hospital. She then spent a year treating the underserved population of the South Bronx, NY before returning to Boston University to pursue her true passion: a specialization in pediatric dentistry. Today, she is a member of the American Dental Association, Massachusetts Dental Association, and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.
What do you like to do outside of dentistry?
Dr. Stewart is an only child and always enjoys spending time with both her parents and large extended family. Her other hobbies include traveling, shopping, skiing in the winter, relaxing on the beach all summer, and going to the gym. Volunteer work is a big passion as well, which is why she participates in an annual dental mission trip to treat underserved communities in Central America!
